No matter whether the ball mill equipment is new or old, once the temperature of the hollow bearing suddenly rises, or even heats up and smokes, it is not allowed to stop the machine in an emergency. Because the oil film of the ball mill bearing has been destroyed, the journal and the bearing are in direct contact, it is easy to tear off and adhere, which can easily cause major equipment accidents. You should stop feeding the ball mill in an emergency, and try to open the cooling water of the water-sinking bush or pour lubricating oil directly on the hollow shaft to reduce the temperature of the ball mill bearing as much as possible before stopping the mill.

For old ball mills, the heating reasons of the hollow bearing are almost all related to cooling water and lubricating oil. One situation is poor cooling. This is because the cooling water pipe of the water-sinking bush has not been cleaned after the ball mill has been running for several years, and the pipe is seriously scaled. The water pipe has lost or partially lost its cooling function and thus heats up. In this case, concentrated hydrochloric acid should be used to clean the cooling water pipe of the water-blowout bearing to keep the cooling water unobstructed.

 

Another situation is the problem of lubrication, such as the lubricating oil has not been replenished or cleaned and replaced for a long time, the oil-distributing plate with oil ring is oily or the oil is unevenly distributed, and the oil pump pumps out oil without pressure. For this situation, measures such as replenishing lubricating oil, cleaning and changing oil, repairing the oil-distributing plate with oil ring, and replacing oil pump accessories should be taken according to the specific problems to achieve a good lubrication state.

 

The heating reasons of the hollow bearing of the ball mill are relatively complicated, and there are generally the following situations:

 

1. The bearing heats up due to insufficient shoulder clearance at the sliding end (feeding end) of the ball mill, and the two bearings heat up at the same time under the action of axial force. This situation occurs because when installing the ball mill, the installation unit did not consider the thermal expansion ΔL generated by the ball mill during operation, and only installed it according to the longitudinal center distance of the two bearings marked in the basic diagram of the ball mill equipment. Solution: Only by removing the base foundation of the hollow bearing at one end (generally the non-drive end) and reinstalling it, the bearing temperature can be reduced so that the ball mill meets the shoulder clearance.

 

2. The brand of lubricating oil is improperly selected. The viscosity is too high to enter the hollow bearing, and too low to form a pressure oil film in the hollow bearing and play a lubricating and cooling role. In this case, the heating phenomenon of the bearing can be eliminated by replacing the lubricating oil with the appropriate viscosity.

 

3. The transmission is unbalanced, causing the body to vibrate, affecting the formation of the ball mill bearing oil film and causing the bearing to heat up. This situation is mainly caused by the longitudinal center line of the transmission shaft and the longitudinal center line of the grinding body not being parallel. The principle of treatment and adjustment should be based on the longitudinal center line of the transmission shaft being parallel to the longitudinal center line of the grinding body, and the bite of the gear should be properly considered.
