Mining flotation machine is also called mining impeller flotation machine. The working principle of this type of flotation machine is: the slurry is fed to the impeller through the slurry inlet pipe, and is thrown into the tank by the centrifugal force generated by the swirling impeller, so that negative pressure is formed under the cover plate, and air is automatically sucked in through the air inlet pipe. The inhaled air and the fed slurry are mixed together at the top of the impeller and thrown into the tank, so negative pressure is generated again, and air is sucked in again, and this is carried out continuously.

In the slurry that has been acted on by the drug, the floating minerals are brought to the surface by the bubbles to form a mineralized foam layer, and are scraped out by the scraper to obtain the concentrate. The non-floating minerals and gangue enter the intermediate chamber through the gate on the side wall of the trough and are fed into the next flotation tank. The adjustment of the slurry level in each or several tanks is completed by adjusting the gate up and down. The slurry circulates in the machine in this way.

 

In recent years, flotation technology has been widely used in the field of mineral processing, and the flotation machine mainly relies on the special role of flotation reagents in its work. Up to now, the commonly used flotation agents are mainly divided into the following five categories:

1. Collectors interact with the mineral surface. They attach to the mineral surface to enhance the hydrophobicity of the mineral surface, which is conducive to the capture of mineral particles on bubbles.

2. Frothing agents. Foam is the medium for mineral particles to float during flotation.

3. Inhibitors are agents that reduce the floatability of minerals. They can form a hydrophilic film on the surface of mineral particles and a colloidal adsorption film, thereby hindering the collector from interacting with the mineral surface. At the same time, inhibitors can also dissolve the adsorbed collector from the mineral surface or dissolve the active film of the mineral that helps the collector to act.

4. Activators are agents that eliminate the inhibitory effect, promote floatability, and make the mineral surface easy to interact with the collector. In current production practice, some minerals cannot directly adsorb collectors, and activators are often added to change the surface properties of the minerals to facilitate the adsorption of collectors.

5. Medium adjuster

Its main function is to adjust the pH value (acidity and alkalinity) of the pulp, adjust the effects of other reagents, eliminate the harmful ion effects on flotation, and adjust the dispersion and agglomeration of the ore mud.

In daily production, to ensure the service life and working efficiency of the flotation machine, we must also pay attention to the product's use taboos and maintenance during use. There are mainly the following points:

1. The number of units (total volume) of a flotation machine system can be determined based on the ore dressing test or the practice of similar beneficiation plants. The number of units for each operation should not be too small to avoid short circuits; large pieces of ore and debris should be prevented from falling into the flotation tank to avoid jamming the impeller and affecting normal production.

2. Before starting the machine, check the bolts of each part first. Before starting, manually rotate the pulley to prevent sediment accumulation and increase the motor load. It is allowed to feed the ore first, and then start the machine after the slurry has soaked the impeller of the flotation machine to avoid splashing the ore.

3. During production, according to the requirements of separation, the gate height is adjusted electrically or manually to maintain the required slurry level and keep the liquid level stable, and the mineralized foam on the slurry surface can be scraped into the flow channel at any time.

4. The suction volume can be adjusted through the suction pipe valve according to the different properties of the ore and the requirements of the separation operation; during production, pay attention to check the bearing temperature of the motor, regularly add oil to each lubrication point, and maintain the normal operation and civilized production of the flotation machine equipment.

5. Stop the machine after the ore is completely cut off, and there is no need to release the ore when stopping; the impeller and stator should maintain a certain distance, and should be replaced when worn. Check the operation of the main shaft bearing regularly, and the bearing in the pump body should be maintained every three months.
