Replacing the end cover of a ball mill is a rigorous maintenance task that must adhere to standardized procedures to ensure equipment safety and stable operation.

Firstly, sufficient preparation work is required. Clear the materials and steel balls inside the mill, and weld a cross bracket inside the cylinder to prevent deformation after disassembly. At the same time, remove all accessories such as the feed pipe, cooling water pipe, and thermometer, and clean the dirt at the connecting parts.

Next, proceed with the disassembly of the end cover. Install chain blocks on the lifting lugs of the end cover and the top, and coordinate with the crane to apply force slowly. Once confirmed to be stable, remove the connecting bolts and pin, gently separate the end cover from the cylinder with a crowbar, and then coordinate to lift it out and place it steadily at the designated location.

Next comes the crucial installation step. Before installation, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the end cap flange and the mating seam allowance of the cylinder to ensure that there is no oil stain or damage. Lift the end cap and align it with the cylinder, then precisely adjust the concentricity using a feeler gauge to ensure uniform clearance and keep the error within 0.25 millimeters. After the adjustment, tighten all connecting bolts.

Finally, install internal lining plates and other accessories, and reassemble the oil system. The entire process requires meticulous operation to ensure precise coordination of all components, laying the foundation for the long-term stable operation of the ball mill.
