The mineral slurry mixing tank is the core equipment at the front end of mineral separation processes. It is widely used for slurry conditioning, reagent mixing and material homogenization in mineral processing flows, providing stable and qualified slurry materials for subsequent procedures such as flotation and leaching. Its operating performance directly affects mineral separation indicators and production efficiency.

The main body of the equipment consists of a tank shell, mixing impeller, transmission mechanism, support base and other components. The tank shell is generally welded by steel plates, with wear-resistant liners installed on the inner wall to resist erosion and abrasion from solid particles in slurry. The bottom is usually of conical design to reduce sand deposition. The core mixing assembly is driven by a motor through a reduction device. The rotation of the impeller generates a composite axial and radial flow field, keeping mineral particles suspended in the liquid phase and preventing solid sedimentation and stratification. Single-layer or multi-layer impellers can be configured according to working conditions to match slurries of different concentrations and particle sizes.

During operation, slurry and mineral processing reagents enter the tank from the upper feed port. The impeller agitates to form circulating vortexes. On one hand, it ensures continuous suspension of solid mineral particles and avoids sand accumulation and hardening at the tank bottom. On the other hand, it promotes sufficient contact between reagents and mineral particles to complete slurry conditioning reactions. The equipment supports continuous feeding and overflow discharging to stabilize the liquid level inside the tank and guarantee continuous production line operation.

Equipment type selection and design shall focus on slurry concentration, material particle size, throughput and medium corrosivity. For working conditions with high-concentration and coarse-grained slurry, wear protection of the tank shell shall be strengthened and mixing torque increased. For fine-grained, low-concentration slurry, the impeller structure can be optimized to reduce energy consumption. In daily operation and maintenance, regular inspection of liner and impeller wear is required. Damaged parts shall be replaced timely to avoid reduced mixing efficiency and sand blockage. Meanwhile, temperature and vibration of bearings and reduction boxes should be monitored to prevent overload damage of transmission parts.

Compared with simple stirring devices, the mineral slurry mixing tank features controllable flow field and stable suspension performance, suitable for continuous mine production. In practical application, optimizing impeller rotating speed and immersion depth can lower power consumption and equipment loss while meeting mixing requirements. Proper equipment selection and standardized maintenance can stabilize physical and chemical indicators of slurry, cut reagent consumption and improve overall mineral recovery rate. It is an indispensable key piece of equipment for wet mineral processing.
