The prevalence of large-scale graphite beneficiation plants is a result of the interplay between resource characteristics, processing requirements, and economic considerations.

First, in terms of resource endowment, graphite deposits typically feature vast reserves and concentrated distribution, providing a solid material foundation for large-scale mining operations. To utilize these abundant mineral resources efficiently—and to avoid the resource waste associated with "small-scale mining of large deposits"—the construction of large-scale beneficiation plants becomes an inevitable choice for achieving the scaled and intensive development of these resources.

Second, graphite beneficiation processes possess unique characteristics. The goal of graphite beneficiation is not merely to increase the grade of the concentrate, but—more critically—to preserve the graphite's natural flake structure, as large-flake graphite commands a higher economic value. To achieve this, beneficiation plants must employ a complex process flow involving "multi-stage grinding and multi-stage beneficiation." This process necessitates the deployment of extensive equipment—including numerous crushers, large-scale ball mills, and flotation machines—thereby objectively requiring the plant to possess a substantial footprint and a massive production scale to support a complete and sophisticated processing chain.

Finally, from the perspective of economic benefits, large-scale beneficiation plants enjoy significant economies of scale. By integrating modern, automated, and high-tech equipment, large-scale facilities can drastically reduce the per-unit processing cost of ore while simultaneously boosting graphite recovery rates and overall production efficiency. Furthermore, in the face of growing market demand from sectors such as new energy and high-end manufacturing, only large-scale production lines can reliably and consistently supply the substantial volumes of high-quality graphite products required to secure a competitive edge in a fiercely contested market.
